Barnardo’s Badges & The National Choral Competition

We're experts in working with charities and schools to create custom merch, so we jumped at the chance to help Barnardo's make some special edition enamel pin badges to award to the finalists of this year's National Choral Competition.

Who Are Barnardo's?

The Barnardo's Children Charity was formed more than 150 years ago by Thomas Barnardo, an aspiring doctor who pivoted from medicine to charitable work after witnessing first-hand child poverty in London.

What started as a one-man mission to give young boys a better start in life has morphed into a massive 5000+ organisation that caters to more than 900 local services and protects the most vulnerable kids in our society.

Barnardo's raises and spends more than £2 million each year and continuously looks for alternative ways to raise money. One of their fundraising methods is the National Choral Competition.

What's The National Choral Competition?

Every year, more than sixty schools around the UK compete to be among the finalists of this singing competition to participate in the live event at the Birmingham Symphony Hall.

After the judges determine the 20 finalists, more than 600 kids descend on Symphony Hall to sing in what has become the UK's most prominent choir competition.

More than 2000 people buy tickets for the final to enjoy a wonderful evening's entertainment while raising money for a good cause.

Barnardo's Believe In Children Pin Badges

Barnardo's wanted to provide the children with a keepsake from their special night, so they commissioned us to manufacture custom badges for every child who sang in the final.

After receiving their design, we recommended a soft enamel pin badge to encapsulate their visuals and represent the charity's branding.

Once Barnardo's had signed off on their production-ready visual provided by our free design service, we set about producing their badges that utilise nickel plating and black, white, and green enamel. The Barnardo's logo in the middle of the pin was too intricate for enamel, so we screen-printed their branding onto the badge.

We gave Barnardo's free backing cards for their pin badges to make them an extra special memento for the children. With the final on March 5th 2024, we hope everyone who participates has a wonderful time and enjoys their pin badges to remember their participation.
